September 3, 2024: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ri-Bhoi, part of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)
Regional Centre for the North Eastern Hill (NEH) Region, Umiam, Meghalaya, successfully conducted an Entrepreneurship Development and Capacity Building Programme for livestock
and poultry farmers. This important event took place in Umwang village, located in the Ri-Bhoi District of Meghalaya.
The program attracted 30 enthusiastic farmers from the local community, who gathered to enhance their skills and knowledge in livestock
management and entrepreneurial practices. The session was meticulously organized as part of KVK’s 100 Days Action Plan, designed to provide practical training and support to improve agricultural
and livestock practices in the region.
Participants engaged in various activities, including workshops and hands-on demonstrations, focusing on modern techniques and sustainable practices
for livestock rearing. The initiative aimed to empower farmers with the necessary tools and insights to boost their productivity, optimize their operations, and ultimately, improve their economic outcomes.
By fostering entrepreneurship and capacity building, KVK Ri-Bhoi is contributing significantly to the development of the local agricultural sector and the overall socio-economic growth of the region.
